a 12 miler

Well, yesterday I completed week #7 of my training by doing a 12 mile run early Sunday morning. After staying out a little too late Sat night and drinking a few too many glasses of wine and not enough water, I went to bed thinking that my chances of having a good run were slim to none. But when the alarm went off at 6:30 I felt surprisingly awake and motivated (which is extremely rare!). I was out the door by about 6:5o, the weather was cool in the 60's with patches of fog, great running weather considering it was getting up to 90 later that day. I knew I had to take advantage of the cool morning by leaving that early...boy I can't wait until cooler temps arrive! Well an hour into the run (approx. halfway) the fog had lifted, the sun was out, and the temperature was heating up quickly. Just about the time, Ryan came and found me on his bike with Gatorade!!! Talk about a team effort! So I attacked the killer 2 mile hill hydrated and got to the top confident that the last 3.5 miles would be a piece of cake! Well that might have been a stretch, but I did finish strong, which is what I consider a good run! This week....13 miles (halfway there!!!)

As someone partially responsible for you being out too late and drinking a bit too much wine, I'm glad to hear the 12 miles went so well!! I can't believe you got up at 6:30 and just motored through... I was still very much asleep =)
