HI everone!
Here are some recent pictures. This week Rhys turns 4 months old! As you can tell from the lapse of time between my posts, we have been very busy lately. I've been back to work for over a month now which has taken some adjusting to and Ryan has been gearing up for finals, which start the 12th (this Fri). It's hard for me to imagine what I did with all my free time before he was born. Life is very busy...wonferfully busy I should say.
Rhys is doing great! He is a very happy baby and lucky for us he sleeps very well, what more can you ask for! :D His new favorite thing to do is blowing rasberries. He's also starting laughing a lot, which in my opinion has to be one of the best sounds a parent can ever hear.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks for Christmas!

Fall in the Adirondacks
Last weekend we drove through the Adirondacks to see the Fall foliage. The colors were at their peak in the heart of the Adirondacks so we meandered the whole day, stopping in several towns that were having Harvest Festivals. This time of year in Upstate New york is just beautiful.

2nd attempt at a family picture....unfortunately Rhys wasn't feeling this location.
Eventually we'll get it right, perhaps not today though.

unfortunately Ryan got the camera angle wrong.

happy one month birthday to rhys!
Today we had Rhys' one month check up, yesterday he turned one whole month old! The time is flying! Here are his latest stats:
Weight- 10 lb 10 oz (75%)
Length- 23 1/4" (95%)
Last night he actually went almost 6 hrs between feedings! Of course he wasn't asleep for that whole time, but it's definitely progress! Also new is that he's smiling a lot now. Mostly when dad makes funny faces and weird noises in his face (I can't figure out why he's not scared by it). Whatever works! We are having so much fun with him! Everyday he seems to change and figure out something else new about this great big world.

Jen came up to visit this past weekend which was wonderful! Rhys was very sad to see Aunt Jen leave b/c his cuddle time was cut by a third.

rhys foster lockamy is finally here!!!
Sorry to be so delayed in updating this!!! We've been without a computer for several weeks now but now are reconnected to the world (not that I've had the time to do much blogging anyway)! Rhys is now 3 weeks old, it's amazing how much he's changed in such a short amount of time.

Here's a very abreviated version of his birth story: Rhys finally joined his exhausted mom and dad after 39 hours of labor. He was born via caesarean at 1:18 am b/c although we didn't realize until his birth, his cord was wrapped around him 3 times! Because of the length of labor I spiked a fever and his heart rate got way too high, so by the time he was born he had a fever too on top of having difficulty breathing. They put him on antibiotics right away, and after a very brief glimpse of him he was whisked away to the NICU where they could monitor him closely. Luckily he was pefectly healthy within a couple of hours but had to stay in the NICU for two days just for precaution. I think he must have been the biggest, healthiest baby in the NICU! Here are his birth stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 14 oz
Length: 22 3/4"
We are so grateful that he is healthy and perfect!
